Cross Straits Chartered Flights have been opened for the Chinese mainland and Taiwan mainly at times of traditional festivals. It will be arranged during Qingming or the tomb-sweeping festival, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, besides the Chinese lunar New Year season.

The Chartered Flights will function at these festivals only according to the agreement made by the Aviation organizations. The festival chartered flights will be opened during the 14 days around the Spring Festival and the seven days around the other three festivals. The destinations of the flights include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen on the mainland, and Taipei and Kaohsiug in Taiwan. The agreement also include that the flights will function at times of emergency which benefit the public living in the area.
