Using consolidator tickets

You can buy consolidator tickets from wholesalers or consolidators. Wholesalers negotiate with airlines in order to get discounted fares on a huge block of tickets. These tickets are purchased by travel agents who then give it to passengers.
When you buy tickets directly from the consolidator, you have the benefit of getting a 7 to 10 day period within which you can pay for the ticket. They also accept payments via credit cards. You do not have to pay the normal advance purchase amount. Furthermore, the minimum and maximum stay requirements which are applicable in the case of budget tickets are not available to you.
Some things you should know about consolidation tickets is that they are nonendorsable. This means if the airline in which you have booked a flight cancels the flight, you cannot take the ticket to another airline. If you are a person who is collecting on frequent flyer points, consolidator tickets may not provide you this, especially in the case of American airlines and British airlines.
